In pursuit of becoming ‘Best in class’, HSM Aero has recently formed its internal Manufacturing Excellence Team. With the goal of improving all areas of the business by drawing upon our technical experience, our highly skilled engineers will work with you to optimise your project.
During R&D and new product development processes, we can work as an extension to your own project team from initial prototype to full production, to advise on material selection, reducing machining times, appropriate tolerancing, and ultimate finishes achievable.
All our Cell leaders and internal Manufacturing Excellence Team members employ established methods in continuous improvement models such as Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) and the 8D process. That’s because at HSM aero we always consider the crucial importance of correcting errors and mistakes as quickly as possible. The same process is applied throughout production, meaning it is utilised as an improvement tool to reduce customer costs. We analyse and adapt to each process, meaning that any non-value added operations are reduced as much as possible.
To enable customers to meet their objectives of minimal stock holding, maximum flexibility of production and minimum lead times (Lean Manufacturing), we can fulfil KanBan orders which enables us to hold a stock of components to customer specification, which can be called off monthly, weekly or even daily.
The key for success in any industry in the modern marketplace is a streamlined production process. Our commercial team and skilled engineers are trained in the latest CAD/CAM processes, and we have integrated a fully functioning ERP system across our manufacturing process, allowing us to plan and execute projects from beginning to end, while automating materials planning, production tracking and scheduling and product lifecycle management.
